One clubhouse. A few ground rules.
USHorsepower is a welcoming community for American-performance enthusiasts, with thoughtful moderation and a useful reference library.
Respect the people behind the cars.
Friendly rivalry is welcome. Personal attacks, harassment, and toxic brand warfare are not. Every generation and level of experience belongs here.
Share work you have the right to share.
Upload only photographs you own or have permission to publish. No stolen images, copied articles, affiliate-link dumping, or promotional spam.
Keep performance responsible.
No dangerous street-racing encouragement or instructions that put people at risk. Technical discussions need context; safety-critical guidance needs verified procedures and qualified expertise.
Experience is not a verified specification.
Label estimates and owner-reported figures. Cite primary references for factory specifications. A helpful member is not automatically a verified expert.
Publication is earned, not automatic.
Garages, questions, answers, stories, and uploads go through review before public publication. Contributor work receives editorial review too. Editors may request corrections or decline material.
Badges should mean something.
Verified Expert and specialty designations are awarded manually after demonstrated accuracy. Competition winners remain in the Hall of Horsepower; badges are not purchased.
Use AI responsibly.
Disclose assistance, check claims, and add genuine experience. Low-value generated material must not displace real knowledge.
Flag a problem. Help protect the clubhouse.
Signed-in members can report public garages and discussions. Editors review reports alongside other submissions. Do not include private contact details in public submissions.
Ranked challenge fairness
Ranked runs use server-issued sessions and server timing: five questions, 20 seconds each. Knowledge is percentage correct; eligible correct answers earn 100 accuracy points plus a speed bonus up to 900. Leaving the active challenge screen excludes only that question from leaderboard points, without calling anyone a cheater. Participation and Knowledge still count. One daily attempt and one weekend attempt are retained per account; practice is separate. UTC dates define standings and events. The Weekend Shootout opens Friday at 00:00 UTC, closes Monday at 00:00 UTC, and publishes winners Monday at 08:00 UTC.
Network latency affects competitive response time. Browser visibility signals cannot prove intent, and determined users can bypass them. This is friendly competition—not a prize-grade anti-cheat guarantee. Copying and right-click are not blocked.

Do I need to own a car?
No. Create a Dream Garage, participate in trivia, and bring your knowledge. Enthusiasm is the only starting requirement.
Is membership paid?
Launch membership is free. Monetization follows engagement, and any future affiliate relationship will be disclosed where it appears.
Where is my data saved?
Account preferences, challenge records, followed garages, and ballots are private to your signed-in account in the built-in key-value store. Public approved content can be read without signing in.
Will I receive email notifications?
Not yet. The account page provides a followed-build digest in the app. Email delivery requires the owner to enable the Email add-on; saving digest interest does not subscribe or send email.
